Just a short note to thank everyone involved for a sail well done! My GPS reports 50 miles covered, and two-thirds that was under sail, with Saturday (Orcas to San Juan) and Sunday (San Juan to Lopez) being wind powered from dock to dock. We had as many as 13 or 14 boats for at least a some part of the journey, including a couple of P15s in Friday Harbor who didn't know a Potter gathering was happening but joined in to the festivities. I had a great time. Pictures to follow later today or tomorrow, on the Northwest Potter site.

I'm especially grateful to Michele for doing her usual great job of organizing, and to:

--the Amorts for their company on the "late starters" trip out to Deer Harbor on Friday
--Jim Devaney for his wonderful hospitality on Saturday night in Friday Harbor
--Nancy and John Butte, ditto, on Sunday night in Fisherman Bay
--the whole fleet for sticking together Monday on the way back to Anacortes, when the winds we were apprehensive about didn't materialize and the "60 percent change of rain" did
--the kids in the Walker Bay, for reminding me what it was like to catch the sailing bug, when *I* was 10, and
--Everybody, for contributing their fellowship and sharing their enjoyment.

What a great time with the San Juan group! Thanks Michele for your well done organizational work.

Also a special thanks to John and Nancy for their assistance towing Lindsay and me to West Sound Marina.

Thanks to all for their great fellowship.

We had a great time going back to Anacordes Sunday. We took a short cut that wasn't and ran into some pretty skinny water. Nothing a partial keel retraction couldn't handle. We had the weekends best sail across Rosario Strait with a brisk beam reach.

Muchas Gracias !

We had a wonderful time and a great cruise!

Thanks to Michelle for organizing a fantastic itinerary, Jim Devaney for his hospitality, and John and Nancy for the great dinner at their place.

I will get my pictures organized and sent to Tim as soon as possible.

Thanks again!

Hi Everyone,

A big THANKS to all of YOU who showed up and made it a great cruise with
great company, a great time, and well worth it! It was my pleasure to
organize, thank you all for the compliments. But it wouldn't be so great,
without all the participants! So thank YOU all! And an extra measure of
thanks to Barbara for my birthday party complete with cake & candles! And to
Jim Devaney for his hospitality and BBQ hosting, and to Buttes for the
wonderful dinner and ferrying us to and fro! I'm gonna post my highlights
of the trip tomorrow. Too busy at work today!

Hi Gang,

What a weekend! I'm so thankful the Northwest Potters exists. You are a
great bunch of people with a great bunch of boats. I wouldn't have attempted
this sail without you. Thanks for being there and allowing me to share this
experience. Special thanks to Michele for initiating and organizing the
event.

Shirley and I are sorry we missed out on the Lopez get together at John and
Nancy's. As John, Barbara, and Jim zipped away after inviting us to what we
were thinking was a chance to go to a restaurant on shore, I remembered --
John had mentioned something at Blakely marina about this invitation!
Yikes!!

To John and Nancy, Thank you for the invitation I forgot / misunderstood. We
hear your home is beautiful, and we missed out on a delicious home cooked
meal.

To All, Thanks again for making this weekend possible for Shirley, Gypsy,
and me.

Sincerely,

Brennan Jones

I, too, wanted to thank everyone who came on the San Juan trip. It was only
our second group outing, and it was better than we could have imagined! We
gained a great deal of confidence in our boat and in our ability to cram 4
people and all their stuff in her for a multi-day cruise. Highlights and
special mention to:

Tim Spofford, for the Friday departure and company to Deer Harbor. Also for
the pictures and web site--I left our camera on the dining room table at
home and really appreciate being able to see others' pictures!

Jim Devaney, for his hospitality on his float in Friday Harbor. Definitely
tops for Austin and Aaron--being able to mess about in small boats and
provide ferry service to one and all! Thank you all for your patience.

The Elzinga's, for Sterling and Shelby and the Walker Bay dinghy that kept
the kids entertained for uncounted hours! I think one of those boats is in
our future.

Of course, dinner at the Butte's was a great gathering! The boys loved the
kayaks and the motorboat ride, and I know Ann and I really appreciated
sitting in a warm room that wasn't moving, given the conditions in Fisherman
Bay! The crab and spaghetti were wonderful, the companionship of the group
made it even better.

Michele, of course, put the whole thing together, and we can't thank her
enough!

And everyone else, for contributing your own special piece to our memories
of this great trip!

I echo the "Thank You" to everyone involved. I couldn't have done it without
you.
