Salt and Pepper Sail

Join host Michele Sladko and the Northwest Potters our first "Salt and Pepper" sails. New sailors or people interested in checking out potters (Peppers) meet up with "Old Salts" to learn about rigging, and perhaps get an experienced crew member for their boat. Help with rigging, launching, and tips on sailing can be learned from skippers with plenty of experience. Folks without a boat can look for a boat to join for a short sail around the lake to learn how others have setup their boat.

Two for the price of one!

Attend one or both of these sails. Please make sure you indicate which sail you are signing up for, or come to both. New sailors, or "peppers" might find useful to review skills honed in the first sail, and may find themselves helping new sailors by the second daysail.

Schedule for April 30th Sail

10:00 Boats show up, begin rigging, but don't launch yet.

This is for the folks who wnt to come see Potters in general, or a specific Potter, look at rigging, ask questions, get input...

12:00 Picnic lunch together on land. Be sure to bring your own sack lunches, coolers, drinks, everything.

There is a $5.00 boat launch fee.

12:30 - 1:00 we'll begin launching, and then do some daysailing, giving rides to those who have come to see what potters are like, or those who haven't sailed theirs yet and would like a ride. Please be willing to take strangers (friends we haven't met yet) out on your boat for a half hour or so of sailing. If enough people show up without boats that we have to take turns, so be it. Lets share our knowledge and experience and help some newer folks gain some confidence.

4:00 we'll start hauling out, and securing our boats. Again, if anyone is still around who needs to learn this procedure, this is a great way for them to learn, by watching as well as helping.

5:00 or 5:30 we'll all head out for a group dinner, location to be announced.

There will be no camping this weekend, not by group arrangement that is.

I fully intend the May 21 event to be a campover.

Details on the dinner location will be forthcoming.

Looking forward to seeing LOTS of folks! If you can possibly bring your boat, please do!
