Sailing event

I,m new to the nwpotters & trailer sailor group, but have been trailer sailing for 25 years or so. One of my favorite events is the Redwood Regatta about 75 miles south of the CA,OR border on Big Lagoon. For about $50 entry fee we get camp on the edge of the lagoon thur, fri, sat, sun nights. Sail over to the dunes separating lagoon & ocean to beachcomb or whatever.

We always watch for the green flash at sunset, and once were lucky enough to see it. It did take 15 or so years of trying. There will be two potter 15s this year. The Humbodt Yacht Club usually has 35 to 50 boats from el toros to Catalina 22s. It is held on Labor Day Weekend. The drive down the Oregon coast and redwoods is beautiful, be sure to take the Martin Durhy parkway drive, a few miles south of Klamath CA townsite & river.

Lagoon

Thanks for the heads up.  I've always wanted to sail that lagoon, been on my to-do list for a few years.

The Redwood Regatta is on Labor Day Weekend, Sept 4th, Mon. We go down on Thursday and make a long weekend of it.

Redwood Regatta

So looks like check the Redwood Regatta calendar mid June and register then... My wife and I are thinking of attending, so there will be 3 WWP15's :)

Redwood Regatta

sounds good. Humbodt y/c gives 3 boats alike, their own class, instead portsmouth handicap. If you come down 101 watch for herds of elk when you cross the OR/CA border until you get to Big Lagoon
